Chapter 1 to Chapter 3

When I arrived at Marseilles after a time shipping the “Pharaoh”, our brave captain Leclerc died in our way back here. His last petition was stopped at the island of Elba to give a letter to Marshal Bertrand, who should give me another letter back to take to France for Noirtier. That simple act to accomplish the last volunteer from my captain brings me another destiny, I´ve never thought and it should have not been like that to me the type of men who meets danger without fear. Just because of one enemy that I never thought as Danglars.
It was February  1815, it seems the beginning of the end. After arriving, I went immediately to see the ship-owner  Mr. Morrel , who promoted me as a captain of the “Pharaoh”, just with 20 years old, it was  too good to be real!. Moreover, the next day would have been my wedding with fine and good Mercedes.
So, I went to see my loyal father, he was out of food and water, lacked of money because of the moneylender Caderousse, who pushed him to pay. Edmond, was upset but he hid his feeling about Caderousse who came to visit him. The moneylender asked Edmond some questions about his future plans skillfully, there have had bad intentions behind.
Caderousse was the informant of Danglars, the moneylender said everything about Edmond plans, so, Danglars thought “He´s not the captain yet”. They wrote a letter to an officer of the government, Mr. Villefort, saying that “Edmond Dantes brought a letter from Elba to the followers of Napoleon in Paris”.
While I was getting married four soldiers and an officer came and arrested me. I told Mercedes not to worry that it was a mistake for sure, that we shall soon meet again.

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Introduction
Talking about this exciting adventure, the story took place in France in the 1800s. The more interesting part to me is that some of the people and places in this story are real, so, it´s part of France history.
Besides, the book shows how after many fights, adventures and more, the good overcomes evil.
He wrote this story to reflect about himself, because he was born in 1802, when Napoleon became ruler of France and saw how France became a very strong country. Also, there were another real person Cesare Borgia, who was a politician and a soldier , fought for many battles and went to the prison of the Chateau d´If, as Edmond Dantes in the book. Moreover,  a real French shoemaker who was going to marry a rich woman. His enemies lied about him and he went to prison. There, a man told him about some treasure hidden in Italy. When the shoemaker left prison, he found it and became a rich man, as Dantes.
About the author Dumas, was one of two famous French writers, father and son. Besides, wrote another famous story, The Three Musketeers, about France in the 1600s.
